The Family Choice Scholarship Program has provided important, timely help to hundreds of Pennsylvania families in need. As an approved scholarship organization for the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs, Family Choice has allowed parents of preschool age children through 12th grade to choose the best educational experience for their child, including private and religious schools. This non-profit initiative is a project of the Pennsylvania Family Institute, allowing businesses to direct some of their tax dollars to scholarship organizations that help needy families send their children to the school of their choice – including private and religious schools.
Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program

For Students and Parents: How to apply for a scholarship For Businesses: Guidelines and Application The OSTC program provides tax credits to eligible businesses contributing to an Opportunity Scholarship Organization. Business contributions are then used by Opportunity Scholarship Organizations to provide tuition assistance in the form of scholarships to eligible students residing within the boundaries of a low-achieving school to attend another public or nonpublic school outside of their district. A low-achieving school is defined as a public elementary or secondary school ranking in the bottom 15 percent of their designation as an elementary or secondary school based upon combined math and reading Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) scores.
